    Hi all,

I'm not an audiophlie and don't understand all the technology that comes with it. Been looking through a few sites and forums and I'm reading about tonearm adjustment, fixed spindles, wow and flutter, heavy platter, pre-installed cartridges.............and so on.

Anyway, I love my music, still buy vinyl and I'm interested in spending a few quid on a new system. Looking for a decent turntable, amp, cd player and speakers. Any suggestions on a combination that goes well together. Also places to buy. I am prepared to spend decent money here, and want a good turntable, definetly better than entry level.

    Cheers.

You could talk to Cloney Audio in Blackrock or browse the ads on http://www.tirnahifi.org/forum/viewforum.php?f=11. You can get good advice on the forums there too.
Obviously there's adverts.ie etc as well but it's good to talk!

Cloney are really good, especially if you get Noel. There are some good integrated amps with the phono pres built-in, i have an Audio Analogue and it's a nice amp. TT, hm - depends on your budget really. I know Cloney caters to most budgets with their decks. Don't know much about contemporary CD players, i have an old Philips and it's really nice. Kind of a sleeper, because it looks terrible.
