Payment Issue Apple.ie

I ordered a 4s yesterday. I selected the Visa option for my Visa debit card but today it says
Payment action required: We are unable to obtain an authorisation for your order. Please ensure your card provider is aware of your order, as we will continue to seek authorisation. Please update your payment method to continue with this order.

I'm 100% positive my details are right. There is also a laser option there but I assumed visa is the correct option. Just wondering if anyone got this before.

There have been some reported issues with some visa debit cards on certin websites. I dont think apple is one of them. I use visa debit with apple the whole time and no issues. Ring your banking centre, it could be be some anti fraud measures as to why authorisation hasnt been granted.

Thanks Razor. Rang Apple and they said just pop into the bank and ask for the transaction to be allowed.

Must say their very pleasant to deal with.

Had that in the past too. It was an anti fraud measure as mentioned above. Had to speak to the bank to tell them I was aware of the purchase and then it was all good.

Happens for large 'unusual' purchases. So unless you do a lot of online shopping you may get flagged to be sure its a genuine transaction. I tried buy a MacBook Retina in Washington and within seconds my bank rang me. No hassle, they were just checking it was legit.

Went into bank and they couldn't do anything apparently, advised to try a credit card. I got home though and payment had gone through last night and its being prepared for dispatch :D

What bank was this out of curiosity? Happened to me tonight.

Sorry for resurrecting this thread also!
