Can anybody reccommend any good pro that they have used that gives good putting lessons. I had a horrific day of putting over the weekend and it cost me the competition. living in the kildare area but work in dublin so dublin/kildare area would suit.

incase anybody is wondering i lost the comp by 4 shots.

4 putts on 4 greens
3 putts on 5 greens

    horrific !!!!

I believe Steve Stricker has been getting good results from his students recently!

Sounds like the lad I played with at the weekend.

Eamon in the heritage is good. Nice putting green indoor and out door.

So that's 31 putts over 9 holes. Unless you have a few eagles and the odd albo I reckon the competition wasn't upto much :D

Or a 28 handicapper that hit every green in Reg, was going to suggest the golf lab as well.
Think it is something that you can correct yourself as there is really no correct way to do it, start 2 foot from the hole and keep holing them then move back another 2 foot.

You should be able to cut out a lot of the 3 putts and worse by a lot of practice.

Find or get a low pile carpet at home and practice your putting. Find a practice green and do the same. Put in the hours and you'll see the results.

I found this on another site about Strickers thoughts on putting,

I like to grip the putter fairly tight in my left hand, probably a 7 on a scale of 1 to 10, but my right-hand grip is considerably lighter. I'm a left-hand dominant putter, and the two grip pressures reinforce the feeling that my left side will be controlling the stroke. I also don't want the feeling of the face twisting, even the slightest, when I strike the ball. I grip the putter in the palm of my left hand, not the fingers. It's resting on my lifeline. This gives me a feeling of unity between the putter's shaft and my left arm."
