with my current setup, (FT101B & G5RV jr) 20m is my sweet spot.

I'm working a lot of CW at the minute and I usually call CQ right at the edge of the band at 14.005

if I'm going onto SSB, then around the 14.200 mark.

I'll swing across the bands and listen for other folks calling CQ, and on contest days I'll go to 17m with a long wire.....

but if I'M calling CQ, it's generally CW as near the band edge as l can get.

    anyone else got fav spots?

I like 18MHz if out portable during the day. If it's open 20W on the Racal with its 8' whip is lots, and can be fine with 10m/ 6m dual band mag mount tuned up with ATU on the FT817ND.

During day 14MHz band good for SSTV or voice on FT101ZD, 3.7MHz band just after dark on FT101ZD
