Reporting eBay Sellers

Folks- is it just me or does eBay make reporting items/sellers incredibly difficult?

I've found a seller who's entire product listings uses copyrighted images. I tried reporting them internally with eBay but it just leads me around in circles. There's no 'option' for the reason I want to report them. eBay seem to have set the report function up so you can't report auctions/sellers for using copyrighted images. It'll only let me report the item if the images have come from my auctions but one of the images is the wife of a friend. I'm quite peeved that it doesn't give me a 'blank' option to report an item/seller- it just consists of drop down options which lead me around in circles.

How the hell do I get around this? They don't have a forum, you can't easily contact someone. It's a UK listing btw.

If you really want to report them, notify the copyright holder of the breach of copyright and let them follow it up. I would say they reason you can’t report it is because you would have no knowledge of any licensing or usage rights between the seller and the copyright holder.

No the reason I can't report it is that eBay doesn't seem to let you report an item for a reason that could possibly originate outside of the eBay sphere. For example, if you want to report an image violation eBay will only give you the option of the seller your'e reporting having stolen an image/text from a listing you have.
There is no facility other than drop down menus to report something. The options you're given only reference problems internally per se, images/text being lifted from other auctions, items that are prohibited.

I'm not some all whinging type that gets bothered by small things. I'm laid back and normally would never get worked up enough to report something. It bothers me because one of the images used is of a friends wife...... and yes he has been informed. It was lifted from a photography website.

That's the reason I'm bothered and I'm fully aware of the licensing and usage rights. There are exactly zero.

Ebay do not seem too bothered TBH. There was an illegal copy of a proper published ebook on sale and I reported it twice to them, and to the author who said he had already reported it (I knew him from a forum). The seller had loads of illegal ebooks on sale and they were still up & selling long after my complaint.
