    So I left my membership in my club lapse last year due to work. Can I plead with handicap sec for to keep handicap which is 24 (dont laugh). Or will I have to resubmit? Thanks for help

    I had to do the same recently although i also had changed clubs . Had to resubmit 3 cards and i went from 17 to 16. Tip for you.....don't birdie index 1.
    No harm in asking but reckon you will have to submit again

    There's a 6 or 9 month window I think, once you cross that it's resubmit time. Before that I believe your handicap secretary can bail you out.

    Your handicap is oficially gone the minute you cease membership of a club. If you join another within 3 months you may get a similar handicap and AFAIK after 6 months you will have to resubmit 3 cards.
