    Hi,

Got rid of the second car in the house so down to just the one which is registered and insured in my name. My wife is a named driver.

My wife however has become the main driver so with my insurance due for renewal shortly I want to make her the primary.

Is there any issue with the insurance in her name but the car not?

    Thanks

Yes when applying for insurance they ask you is it your car, if it's not and you say it is your insurance can be invalidated should you wish to claim.

It's just a case of putting her as the owner, simple process.

It depends on the Insurance company, some don't mind the owner being the spouse of the insured....

Normally you would have to have an insurable interest in the car to be the policy holder but insurance companies may treat a spouse as such too. Best thing to do is ring your insurance company and ask them.
