    Hi all,

Can anyone recommend an indie garage or mechanic in South Dublin area, that can do this job for me ? I have bought one of those ebay repair kits already as it was only the wire which snapped.

I have called Renault Belgard, they do offer to cover 75% of the price provided the parts in the broken one are original. I cannot go with this option as I have opened the door cover and had a peek inside, seems that it was "fixed" before, myself being the third owner of the car.

    Any help/recommendations appreciated.

    Thanks!

Hi, try MF Autoservice in Deansgrange, +353 1 289 8202. Pure sound and not in the business of ripping people off, unlike a south dublin renault service specialist who didn't feel it necessary to tell me about the 75% cover because they are not a dealer, so instead they were going to get me to turf up €400. Cheers for giving a regular customer all their options.

    Hi Lainey,

Thank you very much for the reply!
The problem has been since fixed in a no-name garage for 50 quid. It is not the ideal solution, but the window rolls up and down. I hope it is enough to pass the NCT.

I will keep in mind the name of the garage in case it breaks again, which it seems to happen often enough.

    Thanks,
    Viv
