Why American Eggs Would Be Illegal In A British Supermarket, And Vice Versa

    Interesting article.

    The TL;DR version.

Americans must wash eggs by law before they are sold.
In the EU it is illegal to wash eggs before sale.

In America eggs must be refrigerated at point of sale
In EU they must NOT be refrigerated.

So, how do you like your eggs in the morning, washed or unwashed?

Why would you wash your eggs unless you planned to eat it with shell and all.

Biggest difference there is not the washing but the use of vaccinated chickens in the EU for me. Definitely prefer my chicken samonella free.

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

I think that entire article is a bit of an ovary-action.

    Too subtle?

In some parts of Asia and africa they fertilise the eggs and incubate them. And before they hatch they stop it therefore killing the chick. They then eat it.

So when in Asia eat anything bar chicken cos it should be a semi formed baby chicken

I think its on the outside that I don't eat. Do you wash your packet of crisps before you open them?

Don't americans have those manky looking white eggs too? cant be doing with them.

    Americans also ban Kinder eggs.

    Americans also ban Kinder eggs.

Didn't they un-ban them this week...

On March 13th 2013, "New Jersey’s Candy Treasure LLC" announced a new method of enclosing the toy. Each egg would feature a specially-designed capsule that separates the two halves of the chocolate so even a small child can see the there’s something on the inside. Thus circumventing the U.S. ban on “non-nutritive objects” that are encased entirely in food. These modified eggs are now considered legal in the United States. They are expected to be available in U.S. stores for Easter 2013. Called "Choco Treasure", these are neither manufactured nor licensed by Ferrero, and Kinder Surprise eggs remain illegal in the U.S

From Wikipedia... Although, they are not Kinder Eggs are we know them here.
