Retail job interview - advice

I have been out of work for a few years like a lot of people but I have been applying for jobs.

I have recently seen a part time job offering apox 20 hours a week work in retail.
I hope to get the part time job incentive scheme allowance along with this.
I have not worked in this job area before but I have a lot of experience which would be of benefit in this job.
I have done some part time course since been out of work.

I hope to get an interview for this job but I want to get in idea of what to say that I have being doing since my last job.
Also for a retail job what skills do you think are important as I want to use my previous experience to it's best advantage.
