New Job - Tax

    Hi,
I've recently went into full time employment and Im into my second month, however my tax deduction seems to be a bit odd. In the 1st month I paid no tax and this month a paid €8.33. I seem to be paying PRSI and USC.

Now I've used one of the online calculators and Im keeping aside what I assume is my real tax deduction so I dont get a nasty bill.

    Any ideas whats going on?

Without salary/tax credit details this is an impossible query really. Recommend you give Revenue's PAYE helpline when you get a chance and they should be able to sort you out.

Were you working earlier in the year? If not, then you probably have some tax credits from the earlier months to use up.

Give them a call, I wasn't paying tax I was meant to for this year at all and had to contact them.
