I had a question regarding US and UK radio and TV blocking access from Ireland etc.

Why do they do this? I know with most UK station's you can just easily put in a post code and bobs your uncle. But with the US stations they seem to have invested quite a lot of money into blocking non US interaction.

I know there is was using IP blockers etc. but why do they do it anyway?

    Cheers,
    Cook!

As far as I know its for licensing / copyright reasons. You can listen to UK stations via a smart phone if you download the 'I heart Radio' app, it worked for me, there was no geo blocker on it.

iHeart Radio is blocked to a US app store only now as far as I know.

I use the TuneIn App to listen to UK stations!

Yep, your reasoning is correct. Blocked at the insistence of the record companies and we all know how perceptive they've been in the past. Another way to get uk stations is on Sky
