CF Ultra Cards - Error

    Hi

I have 2 8gb CF Ultra cards which I had no problems with up until Saturday. I took a load of photos with one of them, and I got a card error. Turned on/off camera and kept shooting.

When I got home and put the card into the reader to copy the photos to the computer it wouldn't recognise that I had anything plugged in. I tried a totally different card and it worked perfectly, opened up straight away. However I then tried my other CF Ultra card (that I didn't use on Saturday but had older photos on it), and that wouldn't show up either.

In the end I plugged the camera into the computer (7d) and was able to copy the pictures off. But I'd like to get these cards working again.

The only thing I can think of that might have caused it is that I use the computer - a Mac - to format the cards instead of the camera?

    Any advice appreciated!

So can you see pictures on the camera with this "faulty" card?
I would format it in the camera, also I would use different card reader or copy photos via cable directly from camera.

Card reader more than likely the problem

    Thanks for your replies guys

I've ordered another card reader so hopefully they'll work in that. I'll also try formatting the cards in camera rather than on the computer!
