So this came out last Friday and from initial reports, it's bloody good.
Mine is Amazon delivered on Wednesday/Thursday but if anyone else has it, let me know and we can meet up for a few races.

    A few details:

So far, a score of 87/100 from Metacritic.

    Pros:
It uses the graphical assets of the PC version so it looks better than 360/ps3.
It has off-tv play so you can just play it solely on the gamepad.
It has the Ultimate Speed Pack DLC from previous consoles.
It has a quasi two player mode where one person with the pad can help the other player with the wii remote/pro pad by changing your car/car colour, putting chasing cop cars in a spin to help you escape them, turning off traffic, switching from night to day or vice versa.
Unlike previous versions, you can now go straight to an event you want to replay instead of starting miles from the start point.
Voice chat is enabled online and you don't even need a headset - the mic in the gamepad is just fine apparently.

    Cons:
It has 6 player as opposed to 8 player online
I'm hearing some peeps have their game freezing when you hit the home button to post a pic on Miiverse.

By all reports, it seems to be an essential purchase as we have a developer that actually put some effort into the port.

Developer Chat - seems Criterion are still big Nintendo fans from back in the Burnout 2 days.

    The launch trailer:

I've got my best "Fast & Furious" quotes at the ready so might chat to you online with such jems as:

Dom: "Ask any racer, any real racer. It doesn't matter if you win by an inch or a mile; winning's winning."

    or

Leon: "Oh sh|t! We got cops, cops, cops, cops!"

Was up 'till four last night playing this and Batman after getting both yesterday.

Tried joining an online public server and hadn't a clue what I was doing (the playlist was just full of challenges like "get on top of this building" apparently). So quit out of that and brought my 911 around the city for a spin as I was parked for the night with a few tipples and wasn't in a competitive mood.

This is the most fun I've had with a racer for a long time. Just driving around and occasionally passing a speed camera where the fastest speeds of my friends list are there for record is very cool. I found myself doing a handbrake and going back to have a go of each one I came across and then heading off again. Had a few races every now and then as well just to make sure I wasn't "wasting" my time not building up my car upgrades but this really is the type of game where you can "waste" your time having a hell of a lot of fun without progressing. I didn't come first in any of them (it's actually quite a hard game initially) but I knocked one friend that beat me 8-1 in Fifa off a few places so was delighted with that.

That's one thing I think I really like about this game. You don't have to be online with your friends to try and beat your friends. Just hit left on the d-pad, pick a race the game recommends and have a crack at beating your friends times. Also, on more than one occasion last night, a friend of mine posted a faster time than previously and their time was up on my game in seconds.

I have a feeling this is going to take a very long time to get through but it's a very satisfying racer so it'll be time well spent!

Alls I need now is some fellow Boardsies to race against!

Sounds like Criteron have built a lot of what made Burnout Paradise so great into this now too... Man, I'm tempted!!!

G'wan, g'wan, g'wan! I'm loving playing Batman but this is preventing me from going near it, trying to finish Mass Effect 3, finishing the campaign in Black Ops 2 and practising to get revenge for my 8-1 hammering in Fifa....Oh and probably taking care of my kids too but ah well, sure they're grand.
