will prices for fibre drop ala the UK prices

    Now that we approach the holy grail of fibre broadband can we expect prices to plummet like they have done in the UK. If that is the case would it be better not to go for early adoption and reap the benefits. When you consider that Eircom/COMREG have left us wait for years this could be the chance to gain a bit of revenge along the lines, drop your prices to more realistic and affordable levels ie similar to the uk or you can go shoo.

    Can COMREG do anything about prices ie make the providers or is COMREG just a stalling mechanism eg it can delay the roll out of fribre but cant speed things up at all.

    here is the link but be warned it will make you weep. Line rental has been omitted.

    SKY are not doing us any favours either, easy to see why, if they had the same pricing here it would be BYE BYE to the rest.

    Probably not, Comreg's only interest to date has been keeping their take from the telcos up...so they have a vested interest in keeping prices for "line rental" high thereby raking it in themselves, that's my opinion anyway...
