Islands in Thailand

H there. My sister and i are heading out to NZ IN June on a WHV. We want to stop off in Thailand for about 2 weeks or so on the way out. We were planning on staying down in the islands for the full 2weeks. I know it will be rainy season when we head out there and some of the islands will be more affected than others, but we are gonna hope for the best. A few of my friends went to Thailand last year during rainy season and the weather was fab, so i suppose ya can just get lucky as well.

We are trying to narrow it down to what islands to stay on and i was wondering if anyone could help. We were thinking maybe Ko Lanta and Phuket and maybe taking day trips to Koh Phi Phi and other islands. We are looking for somewhere that would be a bit more chilled out and relaxed, i'm not mad into the whole party scene, but would still enjoy going out in the evenings for drinks and meeting new people, so don't want to stay somewhere too quiet either.

Sorry for the long post, any help would be appreciated!
    Thanks
    Amy

If it's only for 2 weeks better off picking either the bunch of islands to the West of the country or the bunch on the East. Obviously if one side is not in rain season go for that one. If both are in the rain season then my advice would be only book your flight to Bangkok. A couple of days before you go check the weather forecast for the country. Then decide which islands to go to based on the forecast.
