So, there I was spinning along minding my own business when some pesky a4 racer flattened me. End result, bye bye frame :(

most of the bike is salvageable, so Ill be in the market for a frameset (frame, fork, seatpost). what would you recommend, it will be used for racing and race training only. should be stiff, light and a good climber, with BB30 bottom bracket. Not sure about budget, but I would guess about 1000 euros. Something with proper race geometry, and fast. Dont need mudguards, lights, or mounts etc.

Alternatively if there is a super duper bike out there for not much more than ticks all the boxes, i could also consider that.

    boardsies, do your worst!

If that's the top tube, then you might be able to get it fixed. I've seen it done.

If the Ridley appeals, ask dirk if he's still selling his.

This beauty is what I'd buy if I have €542.83 to spend on a new frame tomorrow.

It's basically just the Ribble Stealth with internal cable routing and is, apparently, the exact same frame as the De Rosa R838 which sell for well over twice the price

Have been on the lookout for a bb30 raceframe for the last couple of weeks.

    narrowed it down to
new boardman slr 9.8t frameset from kinetix cycle products at 950euro
    http://www.adverts.ie/bikes/boardman-slr-9-8t-frameset-new/2531683

cannondale caad 10 at westbrook cycles uk 540gbp
    http://www.westbrookcycles.co.uk/frames-c6/road-frames-c112/cannondale-caad-10-road-frameset-2013-p214304
    .
cannondale supersix hi-mod(2011) paulscycles at 1200gbp less than half price
    http://paulscycles.co.uk/m6b0s25p5132/CANNONDALE-SUPER-SIX-HI-MOD-FRAME-AND-FORK-2011

decided to go with the caad 10 due to the positive reviews and also cost reasons. delivery was 3 days to dublin.
Have to admit the ribble looks impressive but if you are in a rush the boardman is located in dublin

    Good point.

OK, buy your new frame, then repair the other one six months down the line.

OP, I'll take the broken frame off ya if you're not going to keep it :D

Lenny if the geometry suits and your size is available I would go for one of the ridley orions from chainreaction as I think they are super value at that price.

The bullbars may cost extra though.

    Perpetually selling it!

I have one or two semi-interested (not quite a full-on interest, but not flaccid either) but I'll probably keep it as a spare/wall-art.

I have a Canyon Ultimate CF SLX which I have been very happy with and on the basis of that I'd recommend them as a brand.

I'd also recommend checking out the framesets available from www.rosebikes.co.uk, my wife's aluminium one seems very well made and some of their prices (for complete bikes) at least are excellent. Their replacement guarantee is pretty good too:
    b. Replacement guarantee
If your Rose frame is damaged or destroyed by an accident or a fall within five years from the date of purchase, you will receive the same or a similar frame from our current range at 50% of the retail price. Within Germany we will collect your frame or your cycle in the shipping box, from your address, free of charge and we will return your cycle or frame to you once again free of charge. Outside of Germany we will simply charge you for the shipping costs incurred.

Sorry not mine, stole the pic, but I would be happy with one. IMO looks great and there are enough good words out there to make want one.

They don't have the prices of their frames available on the website but a quick email should sort you out. A couple of the lads on here got sorted fairly quickly by email for a full bike. I've a pro RS that you're welcome to try before you buy.

I dropped them an inquiry a couple of months ago, $525 shipped to the US. I'd imagine it'd be fairly similar shipping to Ireland.

So that's about €400, + vat and import duty.

Because it's not branded would customs be able to hit you with anything else?

I inquired about that frame set from hongfu last week. Frame fork and headset + shipping is 754US, Thats 583Euro. Expect about 8% Duty when it gets here.

The Dollar is really sh!t against the euro at the moment so im holding off for a while.

This is the funniest examples of the use of the word flaccid I've heard in a while.

As a matter of interest, I've swapped mine for a Look, and am now thinking of upgrading my "other" bike, and I did love that Ridley! How much are you looking for for it?

You just went right ahead and pretended I didn't say almost, didn't you? But point proven; all of those things make my brain feel like it's drying out. The more of my job I can do without having to use them, the better I feel about myself.

    325 euro.

Any lower and it becomes pointless to sell it as I can just keep it for a spare in case of a crash/boredom.

Good price... If I manage to find a chunk more change down some couch in the not-so-distant future, and you haven't sold it, I may be tempted!

On the other hand, lennymc, the Orion's are great frames, and this'd leave you plenty of money for a bb and a lovely set of wheels...

Depending on the price of that (and if I go for it) I could be able to swing a nice pair of wheels aswell. Ill need to do some more research tho.
