Stop the drip

    Hi guys,

I have been losing water pressure on my boiler recently. Its a gas boiler. I think it might be leaking inside the water tank in our hot press. When the heating is running I can hear an infuriating dripping noise inside the tank. It really reverberates, not surprising guessing its like a big bell I suppose.

I have zero plumbing knowledge, so forgive the following questions.

Is there a pressure release valve that could be leaking back to the cylinder?
Or is it more likely to be a leak from hot water flowing through?

What sort of financial damage am I looking at?

    Thanks in advance.

How often are you topping up heating?
When hearings on a while what is the water pressure on the gauge in the boiler?
When you look outside somewhere around the flue could be high or low level you should see a pipe coming through the wall is there water dripping from this?
There are a few possibilities one there is a water leak in the house.
Your pressure relief valve is fecked
    Your expansion vessel is fecked
We need answers to some of the questions I've asked to be able to determin what's wrong

I top up the heating to 1bar (when heated), this will drop to near zero within a week of use. No water dripping externally that I can see. I did have a leaking rad which I replaced a few weeks back. I've been around the other rads and cant find any evidence of a leak or weep.

The sound that I hear in the hot press is a slow rhythmic drip. Sounds like its dripping from quite high in the tank to the water surface.

Check and see if there's a auto air vent on the cylinder it's a brass round type fitting it should be on the top pipe of the cylinder

There doesn't seem to be, only thing on top of the tank is the immersion heating element connection
