I am considering a set for playing in a few local pubs and need advise with amp options. I will be playing an acoustic and will be singing. I don't have any experience on this and need advise. I want something simple and easy it should be able to take one or two guitars with a mic that can be adjusted to suit singing voice. Tone reverb etc.

    I have a Marshall AS50R

two channels with inputs for jack XLR and phonos so you can plug in your ipod for backing tracks or during a break.

reverb and chorus on both channels.

    EXCELLENT amp.

I have a Kustom KAA65, 65 watt, two channels, one XLR/Mic the other for Guitar. Has FX, EQ, ext speaker out. Its good.

But I'm tempted by the ZT Lunchbox :D

I can recommend RMS AC40 with inputs :
    - jack or XLR microphone
    - guitar
    - CD player
It has FX loop, line out, spring reverb, chorus.
I have it for 4 years without any problems -- good and cheap

The Marshall AS50d or 100D would be good bang for your buck, the yamaha stage pass are good too but not great for an acoustic plugged straight in, I would reocmend getting a ParaDI or simlar if you get the stagepass.

    Fishman SoloAmp is another option.

Anyone used a Mega ac60r. I read they are the same amp as marshal as50d with a different name.

If you can get to a music shop and try out some amps it would help you decide on the size you need. Check out the volume of the amp and imagine it in the setting you will be using it in. Also there is very little in price between those two amps and a Marshall AS50D from a brick and mortar shop here I know of and personally I would be happier with the real one rather than those cheaper versions.

I bought the Mega amp. Thing is I am buying second hand and I don't have time to travel to bricks and mortar shop to check out all the different amps and then walk out and buy elsewhere. I think its a little rude and There is none nearby.
I research what I buy including posting here. Sometimes it's helpful.

Didn't know you were buying second hand, hope it serves you well and does the job. I research what I buy too and that's a big part of what boards is for. Interested to hear how you get on with the Mega amp as it is not one I am familiar with. Not a whole lot of information on them online from what I can see. Where was it you heard they were the same as the Marshall?

I like your thinking on it being rude to try something out in one shop and buy something else. I was suggesting buying in the bricks and mortar shops not elsewhere but obviously buying second hand makes that different.

    Link to Amp http://megaamps.com/acoustic.htm

    From Guitar warrior.
Mega claim to make OEM amplifiers for leading manufacturers and a reviewer on Harmony Central claims that Mega's Acoustic amplifier AC60R is the exact same amplifier as Marshall's AS50R. and gives it a 10/10 rating.

A terrific buy! I'm still waiting to see what the catch is!.

I was searching on my phone when i came acrross the info and cannot find the site now on PC

I only stumbled across it because it is very hard to find info on the ac60r. It does look vertually identical to the Marshall and their website do claim to make amps for other major amp companies.

    http://megaamps.com/general.htm
The designs of all Mega Amps products are created by us. For the last 12 years we have manufactured amplifiers OEM, allowing other companies (many of which you know very well) to sell our product designs under their name brand.
