How can I prove my car was taxed at a certain time?

I'm in a spot of trouble and need to prove that my car was taxed at a certain time about 8 months ago. I only have tax discs for the last 6 months now, I must have misplaced the old one.

What's the best way to go about this? Should I go to the motor tax office? Or can I check online somehow. Finding it hard to search for info on this so any help would be greatly appreciated.

They will have record of that at the tax office

Do you pay tax online with a credit card? If so there is a bank statement.
    Or contact tax office.

    Cartell or motorcheck report.

Try contacting the motor tax office and ask them to send confirmation that was taxed at the time. If you paid by cheque or credit card you may have the info there.

Can they? I thought ANPR wasn't read in station but purely in ANPR?

Motor tax office has a record, guards can access this info too AFAIK.
The real question is, who would you have to prove it to that doesn't already know if it was taxed or not?

That might be a long way to go.
I tried once to get a small paper confirming something (few words) from motortax office.
It's been over 2 years now, and I still didn't get it.
All I got was promise they will post it. Few times.
