Mods had a look at the charter and i think this fits in here - if not please remove or relocate.

    Hi Everybody,

I am looking for a band to play an hour to 90 minutes or so at the drinks reception during the day of a wedding at around 3.30 on Saturday, July 13th at a venue in Westmeath.

I'm not looking for a wedding band - i already have a good rock band booked for the evening.

I'm a bit of a bluegrass fan, but haven't come across a suitable BG band that are free and midlands-based yet so i am now casting the net wider. I'd like a bit of folk, americana, roots. Looking for something lively and appropriate to the outdoors on a summer afternoon. I'll consider the right trad group but we're not into ballads or rebel songs.

The band i am looking for should have some web presence, facebook etc. where i can check you out online and should be playing in the next little while so i can travel to see you play

Obviously the budget is important to me, weddings are expensive. Any quote will reflect that its a 90 minute set on a saturday in July and include the travel costs, etc. but I have no interest in paying a 'wedding premium'. Think how much would you charge a pub for the same thing and add any justifiable extra expenses, then send me on the quote.

It will be outside at the drinks reception, power will be available and there is cover available and other options if the weather is dreadful... i can give you more details of the venue if you are interested in quoting me.

We're hoping for a fun, laid back affair so if you think your band fits the bill and can add to the enjoyment or have any other suggestions about where i should be looking please reply in thread or via PM

    Thanks for reading and considering,

Not sure if they would be available but The Blood Red Mountain band have a covers sideline called The Mountaineers - you'll find pages for them on facebook and the main contact is Mark. They are great, just the type of vibe you're after.
