I was looking at a 2007 Vauxhall Astra Van 1.3 cdti 6 speed today. Does anybody have any experience of these, are they reliable, what to look out for etc.

I had upto recently a 2008. Good van they give gearbox trouble that's the biggest problem but if the gearbox if making no noises in any gears and is smooth you should be ok. I liked my one a bit underpowered but it never failed to start or cause any real problems.

Thanks for the reply, nearly every van has trouble with gearbox.

Had one pretty reliable clocked up 150000 miles I think, it was a while ago, only broke down once, bit sluggish, used to get aboutv1000 km from a full tank, I think it was a fifty litre tank, downside bit light in a crosswind
