So the old pc graphics card bit the dust in the parents house and i am thinking of getting them a touchscreen laptop.
budget is somewhere around the 700 euro mark,

    iv looked at options.
asus transformer from komplett looks ok at 330 euro but is a tad small

my best find has been this from amazon as a 14inch and around the 600 euro mark

anyone care to comment or make recommendations?

if all came to all im thinking something like the surface but its once again a smaller device and i reckon the mother will struggle enough to see stuff on a 14" screen let alone one that small.

The transformer is an Android tablet no?

I don't see the point of the touch laptops personally. You're paying extra for that touch capability and I just don't think it fits in with a laptop which will have a keyboard and a touch pad right in front of you.

my mother is technologically impared... she already tries hitting screens as it is so i figure this would simplify things...
i do agree. its not really that useful for the layman but i honestly think it would simplify stuff for her.

    android/windows 8 wont matter.i guess...

I would say it will confuse matters if she is not so technically minded. The touch element isn't necessarily the most intuitive of interfaces on Windows 8 imo.

Big difference between an android tablet, and a pc. I would never give someone a tablet as a primary computing device. They are secondary devices which need a computer, or at least access to one.

hmm yeah ok. maybe just a laptop so. ill pick a cheap one up and twill do.
could actually pick up a tablet and a laptop for the same price as the above, so mite even do that

My mother loves her tablet and uses it all the time. It's an oldish HP touchpad. But she definitely still uses the laptop in the house too. Could be a good shout getting both.
