Going to college or not

    Hi guys,
I was just wondering why so many people don't bother with going to college. It's fair to say that we have one of the lowest college tuition fees in the world. In the US it would cost hundreds of thousands to finish a degree. Here it's only about 1700 per year tuition (on average). When I see people with no education sitting on the dole it makes me wonder why these people don't get educated while the economy is weak. It just seems like such a waste of a year or 2 sitting on the dole when you could be out gettin valuable education. As well as that our third level colleges provide exceptional lectures as well as facilities

For alot of people the education would be of no value. Not everyone is academically inclined and probably see the potential jobs available after college to be boring as hell.
If your in that situation you may aswell be on the dole.
Plus a plethora of other reasons which will be as varied as the people themselves.

For many it's exactly that - the economy is weak, therefore there is little money left for college expenses. Plus, many a large percent of people need to move out in order to attend it. I know I probably will, and even living on campus costs about 5000 year on rent alone.

There is springboard and offers proper college courses for free. I have a few friends who are mad into IT and havn't bothered going the college route. They've got their CCNA, CCNP, Java Professional associate, Windows SQL Server, CCNP Security, Microsoft .net certifications and got them all within two years while working. There all on savage money now, like 50,000 at 21 years of age!! Exams cost between 200 and 400 and self studided
