    Hi all,

I've noticed there have been no replies under the previous posts, so I am hoping somebody might help me out.

I've been think of doing some volunteering this summer for either a couple of weeks of months. I was thinking about South America but open to anywhere really.

I do not want to pay to volunteer. I've been doign some research and the price companies are charging is rediculous. I don't mind a small fee but am looking to go with a charity for free I guess.

Any info would be great. I'm finding it hard to find any.

    Why not volunteer locally?

Regardless of what organisation you choose to go with, or even if you try to go on your own, volunteering abroad requires a certain amount of money to get you there. You'll need to cover your own flights, insurance, vaccinations, food, accommodation etc. and that is before you bring any money out for the cause you want to help.

No decent organisation would provide this as that money would take away from what you're going to help out with. The organisations are not charging fees they are giving you a life changing experience and in exchange want some help raising funds. As mentioned before, the Nurture Africa program is excellent as you cover your own flights and raise at least €2000 and the rest is sorted for you.

If you can't raise the money yourself volunteering locally may be the way for you.

Some miss guided ideas people have on volunteering abroad. It's not a holiday :pac:

I agree with pwurple, why not do it at home if money is an issue?
