    It's up to the company to make arrangements with Irish Revenue to pay the relevant excise duty and VAT before shipping the goods to you.

    No. VAT is payable in the country of destination, so they wouldn't have to pay Italian VAT but would have to pay Irish. There is an exemption for goods which are transported by the purchaser for personal use, but that doesn't apply here.

    The Revenue Commissioners have a leaflet on buying excisable goods over the Internet here.

    www.vinatis.com ordered from these guys last Christmas about 9 bottles delivery cost 15€ - irony of ordering a load of Chilean really lovely wine from France :-)

    I would like to warn you of buying wine online, got a bad experience, they wine that arrives on me was opened I guess that's why the taste was unpleasant or I don't know, the thing is, if you bought online, they'll tend to give you not the best quality.
