    Hi Everyone,

This is probably a bit of a silly one but i'm slightly freaked out. I am 22 at the moment and have had one job since I left school at 17 in 2007. I was employed between January 2011 and December 2011 as a security guard and have recently got a new job offer which is asking for a p45, however I was working cash in hand and was not claiming social welfare. I'm worried that there may be a problem when I sort out my tax situation and my employer sees no record of previous tax contributions. I'm worried that they may revoke my job offer :( Am I over analysing this or should I be concerned. I dont want to be accused of lying about my emplpyment history even though I'm not. Once again sorry if this sounds ridiculous.

As your last job is from a previous tax year there would be no need to hand in a P45, it is no longer relevant. Give your PPS number to your current employer, and you can also call the tax office yourself with your new employers tax number to register yourself as employed with them
