Windows 8 on Macbook

Shock horror I know. But I need Windows for testing & Windows 8, despite its UI shortcomings, is noticably faster than Windows 7.

The only problem I'm having is that I cant seem to get it. As in, I've purchased it from Microsoft & they've given me an .exe file which is next to useless for me.

So I tried it on the only Windows pc that I have (a 32bit aging Win7 Dell), and began to download it using said .exe, but the problem is that it gave me the 32bit iso because I tried downloading it from a 32bit machine initially.

Is there a way to download the 64bit iso from Microsoft, or is the license key that I bought not tied to the ISO that I download, so in theory could I download a different retail copy of Windows 8 and still install it using my key?

Why are you not using Bootcamp and downloading it directly to the MacBook?
    Options available here

What do you mean, downloading it to the Macbook? I have no optical drive so I need an iso image of the version that I need.

Sorted anyway. Had to first install an eval copy of Win 8, then straight after that, the real thing.

Glad you got it sorted. Missed the bit where you mentioned MacBook Air.

BTW plenty of USB install options.

Not a Macbook Air either ;)

And yeah I understood how to create the bootable USB, but there is literally no way to get the ISO in the first place
