Well Lola is near one and she is getting stronger and stronger. The harness I use now (http://www.zooplus.ie/shop/dogs/dog_collars_dog_leads/harnesses/hunter/278259) doesnt give much control anymore. Any advice on a better one?

Was thinking about this one: http://www.zooplus.ie/shop/dogs/dog_collars_dog_leads/harnesses/juliusk9/194484

The best for control and still letting the dog be a dog and sniff etc imo is one that attaches to the front and back with a double ended lead. I use a water repelling xtradog one and love it. I have one of the zooplus/Julius ones too and the only control with them is the handle at the back - so handy if you need to lift the dog out of the river etc but not the best for walking imo. I tend to use it for walks where my dog is off lead the whole time.

Well the area I'm in she cant go off lead. I dont drive either. We would walk around town so I need to keep her controlled.

I use this one and find it great.
It's quick and easy to put on and get off and Patch finds it very comfortable which is the main thing

Trixe and Julius K-9 are apparently the same place btw - in case OP you're wondering what the difference is!!;) They look great but as I said crap for control if your dog is strong - finally convinced my friend to ditch hers last week and get a freedom harness and she doesn't know herself walking her setter.

Positive Dog Training in Sandyford. They have a brilliant shop you can drop into and they'll fit the harness for you or you can buy it online - http://www.positivedogtrainingdublin.com/shop/index.php?route=product/product&path=73_74&product_id=161

I find the Xtradog ones great because they have loads of different measurements so not only was I able to get a water proof harness that doesn't lose it shape when it gets wet (which is at least once a day for us) it actually fits MY dog - not the standard golden retriever in all the charts, my thin fit golden boy! :pac: Also it has front and back connections for when I need more control.
