DVD-HDD tuning problem - help please!

I am having a problem with tuning our DVD-HDD that I hope someone can help with.

We outside of Letterkenny and have two aerials that feed into a splitter that feed four aerial points around the house. One of these goes into our primary television, another into the DVD-HDD and a third in a separate room into a second television.

The televisions both have domestic and UK channels with no problems at all. The DVD-HDD also used to and then dropped the UK channels. I cannot now tune the DVD-HDD so that it picks up the UK channels - where they should be (off the Limavady transmitter as far as I can determine), there is no signal quality at all, although it does pick up some form of signal.

The DVD-HDD is connected to the television via an HDMI cable.

Am I missing something or is there a reason the DVD-HDD cannot pick them up?

    Thanks in advance.

Can you swap over the 2 aerial feeds, tv feed into HDD and vice versa, just to rule out a problem with the signal from the splitter?

I assume the DVD-HDD can receive the Freeview digital channels, can you post the make and model?.

Hi, changing the feeds at output is not feasible as one of the points is on the wall but I might switch the cables on the splitter to see if that does anything.

The DVD-HDD is a Panasonic DMR-EX77. It received all the channels a few weeks ago - I think it was unplugged at some point when I was away and 'lost' them. I know it cannot record the Irish channels as it cannot cope with MPEG-4 but it's an expensive DVD player if it cannot see the UK channels.

Also check that the aerial plug is fitting correctly into the recorder and that the plug is fitting correctly on the cable just in case anything was disturbed when the recorder was unplugged.

Some HDMI cables cause interference and that could be your problem. Surprisingly the cheaper ones seem to be better in this respect. Try moving it away from the aerial lead as much as possible.
