Humming and hawing between a 1.4 and 1.6 car. I posted the same thread about 1.4 and got great info. I guess if I am looking for performance!, I should consider a bigger size engine also!

    Which cars do you like?

I know you asked about 1.6, but what about Fiat Bravo 1.4 T-jet 150BHP.
That's quite well performing hatchback, and if you can get 07 or first half of 08, tax is reasonably low.

    Great cars.

They all look like sweet cars .I have to trade a car in so I have to go with a dealer rather than private sale so my options have been curtailed alot.Added to my personal preference for mileage , colour , etc

Does anyone have an opinion on a peugeot 207 gt vs an astra 1.6 sxi?

Astra is like a model dancer lookswise but a lil dissapointing in the motorway, peugeot is plain looking but is very reponsive/explosive in the motorway

They are two different cars , should I go with the car I like the look of alot more or the car which would be more fun . I can't decide.Which novelty wears off first?

Ford Puma 1.7 is pretty quick.

Best looking imo is a blue EP2 Civic, no performance really.
