Cap 1 external student needs assistance

    Hi, I am a mature student who has registered for CAP1 Finance and Mgt Accounting Autumn sitting. I have bought myself all the recommended books and printed out the Competency Statement. My problem is, I havent got any clue on where and how to start. I tried to match the competency statement with the topic in the textbook which doesnt help at all. I am unable to attend the lecture as an external student.

    Can anyone share with me any tips on which chapter in the text book to be covered or any notes( i am willing to buy) that can guide me? Your help is much appreciated. Thanks!:)

    Hi Sherry,

    Are you doing Elevation? I did CAP 1 & 2 as mature student i.e. industry whilst doing the Elevation lectures, I am in FAE now. I am still using my notes but if you want some help with going through the competency statement and the books, PM me.

    I am in my final year accounting technician, will be sitting my final exam this May. I have registered myself to sit for CAP1 papers - MA and Finance this September. As an external student, I do not get the luxury to attend the class nor to access to the notes , though I am still allowed to access the past papers. I realised that the text books cover CAP1 and CAP2 syllabus and I have difficulty to seggregate it out. I am more than happy to accept your help.. Thanks a million....:)

    Hi, I am in the exact same position as the OP. I'm an external candidate, except I'm doing Financial Accounting and Management Accounting in Autumn. I too am struggling to match the competency statements to the books. I have gone through the books and there are a number of things on the competency statement that I can't find in the books. Can anyone help me?
