Beads slipping on roller blind

Roler blind goes down fine, but when I try wind up (metal bead chain) the beads just slip through the pulley & blind won't move up.
If I gently pull chain & help roll the blind with hand, it goes up but obviously only a temperary fix.
I've taken blind down & the beads look like they are sitting in grooves ok (although I can't get cap off to try realign them)
The blind hasn't wrapped up too much on either side where it could cause a jam.
Any suggestions on whats wrong/how to fix this??

Could the roller part of the mechanism have slipped out of place?

On my blinds the bead string is attached to a small roller that spins inside a larger roller to which the blinds are attached. The smaller bead roller has a little metal insert that slips into the larger roller and spins it as you pull. It's a little bit tricky but if I take a pencil and push the large roller towards the smaller one as I pull the chord they fit back together and everything works as it should again.

    Perhaps it's the same problem.
