Removing rust stains from stone wall

Can anybody tell me if there is a way to remove staining caused by spraying a stone wall with sulphate of iron dissolved in water. Yesterday my genius of a husband thought it would be a good idea to use this mixture to kill moss growing on the mortar joints in the wall but this morning it looks as if one of the local farmers decided to spread slurry all over it during the night. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You could try a Brick cleaner. Available from all Builders providers.

Been there and done that, well nearly, after some over spill on the patio area, I can say it is fairly much impossible to get rid of the stain,
I did end up using a wire brush on a grinder, which did dull the stain, though not remove it.
Very high pressure washing and acid cleaners done nothing to even dull the stain.
You'll get used to it after a year or two.......

Hey everybody this time its the "genius husband" here. The only reason I've been let out of the dog house is because it doesn't have a view of the front wall. Thanks very much for your advice and suggestions and martin I'm afraid you seem to be right (except for the getting used to it bit). I tried brick acid today without much success although the optimist in me is convivced that its a little better. Unfortunately I couldn't follow the label instructions precisely as there was no inconspicuous part of the wall to test it on. It looks like I might be in the market for a lot of fast growing, shade loving climbing plants although I have found another promising looking chemical solution. With my luck will probably kill the lawn without improving the stains. Thanks again for help.
