I applied for a MA in history in UCD and received a conditional offer. However I haven't been told what specialism I got. Anyone else in the same boat?:confused:

The conditional offer probably means that you've got the offer pending results from your current course, or maybe pending your references. Did you apply for a specific MA course (i.e. early modern, 20th-century Ireland, etc.)? If so, and they didn't say otherwise, then it's likely they may well be holding a place for your chosen MA, provided your results are sufficient. If it's a competitive MA, and your results aren't high enough to get into your first choice of course, then they may offer you a place on another MA course. Why don't you contact the School of History and ask for clarification? It's the only way you'll know for definite.

IIRC, the conditional offer is dependent on any college results pending and references.

You'll probably get a letter if you get full acceptance asking you choose 1st, 2nd and 3rd preferences.
Closing dates aren't till end of June or July (don't take those dates as gospel).

Best thing is to get in contact with the school of history for clarification.
