Possibly travelling to Oslo for a weekend away soon, as Ryanair has some really cheap flights at the moment.

Any tips on what needs to be seen, any recommendations for accommodation either? :)

Im considering the same so would be interested to hear some ideas.

One thing i noticed though, the airport is not close to the city and the bus transfer is really quite expensive! Anyone done it before with Ryanair?

Wait until you have a Pint!! Seriously having just come back from Copenhagen which is supposed to be cheap in comparison to Oslo, I'd think again, no point in a cheap flight when a Big Mac meal will cost you a tenner.

Found Copenhagen expensive myself. Is it even possible to do a budget trip to Norway? :/

Don't think so. Maybe check tripadvisor forums for Oslo for advice on this.

I found Norway eye wateringly expensive, definitely not a budget destination. Even when we were buying things in the supermarket it was crazy compared to prices here, and having dinner out and going drinking is super expensive!

The flights are so cheap because Ryanair don't fly to Oslo. Rygge is 60 km outside Oslo so factor in transport costs. Have you looked at Norwegian Airlines often have good deals and fly to Oslo.

As said above bring plenty of money.
