    Im looking for a small, light basic laptop/notebook, with a long battery life, for when I travel on business/holidays. Mostly for business use so for internet, word, email (MS Outlook), so proper keyboard essential. Shoudl be robust as will be travelling with it.
    Any suggestions gratefully received and considered!

    PC World have the 12" ASUS Vivobook S200 with a Pentium processor for €439, at LD they have the same model with a Core i3 (though only 2nd generation, it's a lot better than the Pentium) for €509.

    It's small and light, comes with a touchscreen (which makes life with Windows 8 a lot easier) and the battery life is OK and pretty much the best you can hope for within your budget. As for the robustness, I much prefer a solid state disk but again, this would go well beyond your budget.

    After doing some research Im now looking for an ultrabook with touch screen, about 12 - 13 inch screen, good battery life, ideally with backlit keyboard, budget up to about 800-ish euros.
    Looking at Asus, Sony, Toshiba and HP on various websites and shops, a ot of choice, any ideas?

    14 inch laptop - up to 12 hours - amazing really, quite portable too.

    That site does deliver to Ireland, about 10 quid delivery last I ordered

    hi guys,
    I have been searching for a good ultrabook for when I go travelling, its for business use, so not for gaming/video etc.
    I have narrowed my choice of ultrabook to the following three 13 inch ultrabook models:
    1/Toshiba SATELLITE Z930-13N;
    2/ ASUS UX32A;
    3/SONY VAIO T-Series SVT1312C4ES 13.3
    In your opinion which model would be best suited for general business use, ie word/email/internet, light weight, very reliable and long battery life?
    thanks!
    BB

    There's no telling without knowing the specs.

    A good source for comprehensive reviews would be notebookcheck.com.

    I finally decided to go for a Toshiba - my previous laptop was a Toshiba and was/is very reliable and suitable for business purposes. I went for the Toshiba Sat Z930-13N Laptop (Core i5 + 6GB + 128GB SSD, 13.3" + Btooth + HDMI + WiDi + Backlight Tilled Keyboard).
    Its very light, good long battery life, and hopefully will be just what I was looking for.
    Thanks everybody for your feedback which was much apprecaited!
