Hey, looking for some advice as to what to do with my car. Its a 98' Hyundai Coupe, black, 1.6. Its got just over 145k km and NCT was due there four months ago. I put it through and it failed on a tyre and emissions. Basically the catalytic converter is gone and with being in college i just don't have the funds to repair it. I'm not sure what to do, its sitting on my front street now with a flat tyre. Do i sell it for parts to a dismantler or stick an add up? suggestions please...

Similar to OP, looking for advice on - to NCT or not to NCT.

    99-D Ford Focus, 1.4L, over 150K km.

Put off test (originally booked back in Apr) due to very necessary bumper and wing mirror replacement along with the usual pre NCT "to do" list.

Bought it for 1500 3 years ago, and wondering is it worth shelling out for the repairs? Anyone suggest what I'd get for it scrap-wise these daysin Dublin?

    Thanks in advance

Scrap cars are making 100 a ton in Dublin but you have to get it there.Put the cars on Donedeal as somebody already said for a price you think is fair and see how you get on

In all honesty, that car without NCT and that damage would sell for 500+ on done deal if it runs well. Don't know why you would scrap it straight up, repairing it and NCTing it would put it closer to 1000euro.

Oh, and same response to you. Car is worth 500 for a clean civic, fixing it up would put it closer to a 1000. IF you have the fail sheet, its much more valuable selling it with it.

But he isn't selling a Civic. It's a Hyundai Coupe and at that age they're worth SFA

They're worth more than what a scrappy would pay!

Shouldnt cost that much if you get a cat from scrapyard and get someone to weld it on.

I am a fool! But still, it is worth more regardless of my mistake of name, selling a car on is worth more than scrapping it if it runs.

This is true but when I looked at them about two weeks ago they seemed to be on donedeal for anything above 450 with no nct but running.
