    Hey there,

I'm in Stage 2 of the IEC application so I've set up myCIC account. Can somebody please tell me if a police certificate from another country other than Ireland is needed? I spent 10 months in 2010 in Spain on Erasmus and now I'm currently doing an assistantship here for 8 months. There's conflicting information because it says on the website that if you've lived in a country for more than 6 months you need a police cert but then it only states it for 'permanent residency' which the IEC is not. Also, Spain is in the EU so I'm legally entitled to live and work here and don't need a visa so I'm confused.

Ok! When I have both of them, do I have to upload them together in the 'Police Certificate' section of myCIC? Also, it might be in Spanish so have I to get it professionally translated? ;)

yeah you have to upload as one file in the police cert section.
i am not sure about the translation bit, can the spanish police issued a english translated one or with spanish and english text?

I read on one of the govt. websites that you can apply to the embassy in Ireland. Surely if you request it in English in the embassy here, they would?

The Embassy in Ireland charge 70 euros to get the certificate and if you do it yourself through Dept. of Justice (ministerio de justicia) it is 3.62 euros. Huge difference. Plus it comes back the same, not translate.
