How's it going I was just wondering if anyone with a little better insight on the matter could tell me if you get an EMT qualification in Ireland is it recognized in the likes of Australia or Canada? Cheers.

Short answer, probably not. You'd have to apply for equivalency there (if there is an equiv. level)

I've got a mate over in Australia at the moment who's an EMT and they wont recognize it. He was told he would have to apply like everyone else for a graduate paramedic programme.

The problem in Australia is the same as the UK and elsewhere. They are moving towards an academic based system run by universities. We are looking at the same set up here in Ireland.
