Has anyone had a piston out of a hydraulic ram done using this?Is it good and hard wearing? The top ram has 2 nicks on the piston and is weeping a bit of oil, replaced seals today but again it wont last.

Can get the piston chopped and replaced for around 500-600 so was just wondering is hard chrome a viable option or is there any other option?
    Cheers.:)

It would be perfect but the cost would be far dearer than replacement at 500 as after the plating the piston would have to be reground on a specialist lathe.
