Have a Neff hob and while one ring won't light with the spark, another one won't fully go off, it stays lit at a very low flame. Just burned the a*** out of another pot. Any ideas what is going on?

It sounds as if there are two separate faults at work here. If the burner has had a spillage (boiling milk for instance) the gas airway towards the spark plug can get blocked so tha spark doesn't ignite the gas. Take the burner off and clean it thoroughly but check the igniter is actually sparking first. If the gas doesn't turn off at the other ring you need to get the control fixed so that it does shut off, as it will never stop feeding gas even if it is not alight.
