whats a decent price to pay for a hotel in NY in december?

Hi Guys,

Thinking about a trip in december to NY with a friend and was just wondering whats a fair amonut to pay for a hotel at that time for 7 days.

Granted i want something nice for me(male) and her as its kind of a get away.

also can you recommend any...never been before you see

All about the budget. What you consider a fair amount and what NY hotelliers do may be slightly at odds with each other. For a decent 4 or 5 star budget $2.5K to $3K for the week and this does not typically include breakfast.

the best western is where we stay, clean hotel in an excellent spot (just off times square) i think we paid 160euros per night per room. depends on your budget. my folks stay in fitzpatricks hotel when they go, bit pricey for me! but another great hotel

Keep an eye out constantly on the various websites - www.booking.com www.hotels.com - I got a great deal in Fitzpatricks Grand Central a few years ago - €100 a night - and pounce when you see somewhere you like at a good price.

You could also check www.hotwire.com and www.priceline.com they sell secret hotels (you don't get name until after you've booked) but you can generally guess which hotel it is.
