Looking for info/prices/recommendations for wallpapering a standard small box room. Cheap wallpaper wanted nothing fancy. Room is about 2.8m x 2.4m with a large window on one wall and door/wardrobe on other wall so only really need 2.5 walls done!

Im in the Tallaght area if this helps. Many thanks

You can spend as much as you like really. If you want to spend as little as possible you can pick up rolls of wallpaper in Gerry Keanes on Talbot st for less than €5 a roll in his bargain buckets. Which are probably out of production wallpapers that he only has 5 or 6 rolls of each design. And to be honest prob wont be great but for that price what would you expect. They also have good quality wallpapers upstairs that are more expensive (€50-€80) but not as pricy as most decor shops that sell top brand wallpapers, you could be looking at over €100 a roll.
B&Q and the likes will have some nice but not great quality wallpapers for around €20-€30.
I'd most recommend DLK Wall Designs, as I know them better and they have very good quality wallpapers at more affordable prices €40-€50 as well as more expensive ranges. Look up Gerry Keane and DLK Wall Designs on Facebook where they both have plenty of pics of wallpapers. I know DLK do deals on their FB page.
You'll need a minimum of 3 normal size rolls. Some places will take back unopened rolls, but be sure to ask.

Thanks for that. How much would it cost to get someone to do the actual striping/wallpapering. There is a large amount of the wall that is kind of stripped (was cheap paper to begin with) and we rent the place so think its best to get the whole room re papered for as cheap as possible.

It's hard to say how much it'd cost. If it could all be done in the one day you might get it done for somewhere between €120 and €150. All depends on how much work is needed to strip the paper and prepare the walls.

Here's one of the special offers on the FB page I was telling you about. It was reduced from €40 to €30 per roll and would be a good quality wallpaper. For the sake of €90 I think you might as well get something decent even if it is for a rented house.

Are you not affiliated with DLK?
If so, you really should be stating that in your recommendations.
    (my opinion only)

Not affiliated with them, I know one of the guys in there quite well having worked with him. And because of that I've learned a lot about their products. But most of what I learned I've learned from being a fan of their page on FB so anyone can see these things.
Should I not recommend them because I know them personally?
I presume anytime you recommend any trademen you know you make it clear that you are "affiliated" with them if you know them from outside their work!!

Nope not at all, I just thought I remembered that you were affiliated from a previous thread.

(But, if I was 'friends' with someone I would state it, and continue with the recommendation)

If you buy an Earlex wallpaper steam stripper than you would strip the room in a few hours.

They are around 40 euro.I have one myself and its a great bit of kit.

Then go and buy a few rolls of wallpaper and wallpaper paste from Gerry Keanes on Talbot Street and you would do the room yourself for under 100 euro..and thats including the purchase of the steam stripper.
You will easily get some nice "end of line" rolls of wallpaper for around 10 euro upwards, and in some cases even less than that.

You can also hire a steam stripper out from a builders providers/hire shop for 15-20 euro for a day....Hire it on a friday and you get to keep it all weekend long.;):)
