    Air, mains or battery?
Got a decent enough 220v Clarke International online from the UK for70-odd euro. It arrived here next day. Fine for home use (and got a hub nut off that I'd been trying to get off for weeks in less than five minutes!)

Pneumatic, electric or battery driven ?

    We buy them from www.airimpact.ie

We also have Makita battery powered ones and they are the dog's -but expensive.

You don't want to acknowledge that as truth because, deep down in places you don't talk about at the Green Party, you want me on that road, you need me on that road. We use words like freedom, enjoyment, sport and community. We use these words as the backbone of a life spent instilling those values in our families and loved ones. You use them as a punch line. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the tax revenue and the very freedom to spend it that I provide, and then questions the manner in which I provide it. I would rather you just said "thank you" and went on your way. Otherwise I suggest you pick up a bus pass and get the ********* ********* off the road”

Wil the aldi one break my heart?

Aldi one is ok. Just make sure you use lubricating oil on it before you use it. If you don't it will never work a second time.

Don't ask me how I know!

I didn't know mains impact guns were available! EBAY

That ebay mains powered one is 450Nm, the Aldi is 310Nm, a big difference

Neither did I - it was a very pleasant surprise!!!
This is the crowd I bought off - http://www.ebay.ie/itm/1-2-Corded-Impact-Wrench-240V-Sockets-Case-Clarke-CEW1000-GO-NEXTDAY-3-99-/400398257241?pt=UK_Home_Garden_PowerTools_SM&hash=item5d39988c59

Delivery to Ireland was pretty fast.
Comes with a set of spare brushes and a handful of impact sockets.
Perfect for what I need it for.

If you gotta have an air gun, spend good money on it. And you need a compressor with a good size tank and a decent hose and a set of sockets.

For 'home' use I bought the Clarke CEW1000 Electric Impact Wrench. £52 stg at the moment and that includes a case and a set of impact socketc. It's 450Nm for £52 Stg, I reckon it's the best bang-for-buck unit on the market.

I had an impact wrench years ago, before I bought a battery impact wrench and then an air compressor, which looked exactly like the one in the link, I cant remember the brand and I don't have it anymore, but it was one of the best investments I made at the time. it was strong enough to loosen Honda crankshaft pulley bolts and that's saying something. When mine broke I remember trying lots of places for a new one but no luck.
