I get this query from friends every now and then, and the only one I know of is 2 Wheels in Monkstown. Anywhere else generally have a stock of second hand bikes for sale?

Ucd bike shop definitely have second hand bikes, some quite good too, I think wheelworx and Harry's in clonskeagh might have a few. Rothar on fade st also have a few.

Thanks MB. Do Rothar sell decent ones? I was only in the once, I got the impression it was a lot of Franken-bikes.

edit: that was in Phibsboro, not been in Fade St at all.

I'm on my second Rothar road bike - first was a clunker - no QR wheels - second has given me about 12k in the 16 or 18 months since I got it. Been to France and Mahon falls. It's not sexy but its a fine frame (trek 1000 I think) and a lot of the parts were new .

It's mainly the frames that get recycled - consumable parts don't . It's getting close to a time for an upgrade and I'll probably go new this time , but the Rothar experience so far has been great.

    Disclosure - I was a volunteer there.

Bolton cycles sell reconditioned bikes from europe. Some really nice road bikes from the 70's-90's. I saw a Colnago, Battaglin and some others that I would love to own for winter bikes

Not sure on the quality, I was in there on Sat asking about bike maintenance classes and just saw some in the shop, only about 5 or 6, I think they were basic enough.
