Insurance - highest amounts forked out?

    Who will admit to forking out huge amounts for insurance?

    As a 24 year old newly qualifed driver with 3 years NCB I paid £2,300 for fully comp on an MX-5 in 1998.

    Factoring in inflation I make that €4,275 in today's money. :eek:

    I paid 2600 punts back in 1999 aged 21 on a 2.0 Audi 80.

    I paid IR£2200 on a 1995 Rover 214SEi when I had a full license and two years NCB back in 2000, when I started out driving in 1998 my insurance was IR£1588 on a 1990 414si with a provisional when I was 18.

    People used not believe me as the IR£1588 was low, people were being quoted thousands on 1.0s back than.

    The greatest I paid was about 700 euro with Aviva (Hibernian then) on Fiat Cinquecento in 2007 fully comprehensive. That included 4 years NCB. Never paid more before or after that.
