Actually if it was suicide attempt then that is almost more distressing. What 14 year old should be so stressed or depressed that they want to take their own life?

I hope he pulls through and gets the help he needs if this is true.

    According to Aengus:

It was a legally held firearm, in the boy's own home, no sign of a break in nor foul play suspected at this early stage.

Speculation on what happened not needed at this point I reckon :(

    It's very sad either way.

Adrian Kennedy has just mentioned it too. He said the boy is in a critical condition and Gardai are investigating.

Out of respect for the lad and his family we'll keep this closed.
