Sky On Demand vs. Sky Anytime

    Hi,

I'm thinking of getting the basic Sky package (the 27/mth one).

I'm confused about Sky On Demand. Is this in addition to Sky Anytime? I know they used to do a service where Sky would download to your box (over the Satellite feed) a selection of programmes you could watch when you wanted - normally their best/most watched shows from the channels you subscribe to.

Does that still happen and is On Demand on top of this? Or has it replaced it? My broadband is pretty good, but not always perfect on streamed material.

    Thanks for any help here.

It still happens. The on demand is on top of that. You connect your box to your home internet. You can then select a subset of shows (quite limited on basic package) and it can then stream episodes immediately to your box.

Not all shows are available. Only a tiny subset.

It can be quite heavy on your internet connection, but if you wait a few minutes it works even with quite slow internet, you just need to leave it downloading for a while.
