Anyone know what date this is on? Just want to get it in the diary, as really enjoyed it last year. Cant find anything online. Think it was in June last year.
    Thanks

Race of the year last season. Evening start, beautiful weather, great course, good depth of field, hiliarious false start(almost got shot)and possibly the greatest spread I've ever had the privilage of gorging myself opon.

Totally agree. I witnessed the assassination attempt and agree it was hilarious. Meath races are fantastic. €15 for Bohermeen, Dunboyne and Dunshaughlin. Don't wanna be negative but a lot of race promoters should take note. Races like this deserve huge support.

I was coming back from santry yesterday and I saw a couple of massive billboards advertising the Samsung nightrun and I was thinking if I didnt do too many races and was a bit of a naive about these things I'd be very impressed and totally hooked in. If only people knew how much they were being ripped off.........Although having said that, if 10,000 bodies turned up in bohermeen that lad with the starting gun would definitely end up shooting someone.

Yeah it would be a massacre man, like the start of Saving Private Ryan, thousands of runners storming up the road being fired at by the starter to hold them back!

Awesome race this, in my top 3 from last year, def will be back this year again.

Just started the couch to 5k plan. Should be up to 5k in time for this, would be a good incentive to keep it up. Anyone got a route map?

So, who's doing this race this weekend?
    I'll be there anyways!

I'll be there but I'll be more or less jogging around. Forecast is good though which should make for a great evening.

That depresses me T - I'll be aiming for a PB and still won't get anywhere close to your jogging pace!:(

I'm heading down as well. Heard great things about this race and we have a few lads running so should have a decent enough team. Weather forecast is good for the weekend I think, would be great if the weather held

I think its 3 to score so between yourself, dr Q and paddy you'd be in with a decent shot.

Hoping to make the race this evening, but will have to take the bike. Anyone driving down and have a bit of boot-space, where I can stash my bike gear during the race? Thanks!

Is it just clothes Krusty or the actual bike? I am going down but not racing, on photography duty so can keep and eye on your stuff if you want. Will have car with me. Send me a PM if you want.

Good race, nice course, nice spread afterwards.

Registration a bit messy, start line a disaster.

Yeah- was a decent race. Course not particularly fast at all (I never ever say this but it seemed a smidge long) The start was a complete sh&t show. Dunno- I just wasn't super impressed w/ it. Very very good field though and the BBQ was a nice touch

Don't forget the Braveheart run hosted by the Trim club coming up this Friday night, run over the fields and near the ruins around the historical castle and abbeys in Trim.

This has gone from strength to strength in the last 3 years, the club is well setup for a decent crowd.

Great race, probably my favorite of the year. The start is a little messy but its not so bad, everything else makes up for that. Really good depth of field, didnt expect david maccarthy or costello to make an appearance. Beautiful evening aswell. Had to slow down after the first mile, calve started to tighten so had to cruise to the finish at a relatively slow clip. Strange experience running a 5k at an easy pace, was able to really take it all in as opposed to the usual eye balls out tunnel vision running. I passed one lad in a bohermeen singlet with about 200m to go, I wasnt trying to pass him but he was dying on his feet and slowing. Got to about 50m to go and the guy on the PA was egging him on the to skin me. It was funny because I wasnt racing, my calve was too dodgy and couldnt handle a sprint finish so I was just running at the pace I'd been running at since mile 1. He went by me and collapsed into a heap over the line, the guy on the PA congratulating him on his great victory! I had a little laugh to myself about that one. Whopper spread afterwards and all in all a great evening, will be back next year for sure.
